I've closed my tabs and logged out of tumblr for what I suppose will be the last time.

I spent a decade on that site. It was my news, my social life, and my fandom hub.

Probably, I gave more of myself to it than I should have, really. But in return, I got so many things that I can't imagine finding anywhere else.

I don't know what I feel.

But, it is the dawn of a new day.

Well, I don't like horror movies and lack the puzzle skills for args, but I love analyzing the techniques the two genres use, and how they steal back and forth from each other so much. The last 3 years has been a very rapidly evolving time in visual horror!

I love my little pony and will never stop, even though I'm one of those heinous Chatoyance stans (and if you don't know that name, consider yourself lucky. That was a wank with a body count, and the death wasn't even from suicide).

I want very badly to like Shera and the princesses of power, but it's shockingly poorly written in the first three episodes. Enough so that I can't make myself watch any further yet. And the drama surrounding the staff and fandom of the show doesn't help at all.

I love the world build and characters of ffxv, I just hate the story, so I'm 100% au there.

I am a major proponent of taking Detroit Become Human out of David cages hands and making it the beautiful story about the kindnesses and cruelties necessary to create a revolution when the world sees you as a scoreboard or a vacuum cleaner, and nothing else.

I'll probably be catching up on the zombie idols anime soon.

Nearest and dearest to my heart, my very first fandom : Kingdom Hearts. I've lived and breathed KH for 15 years, and in one month, just one month!! I will finally know the truth about my babies.

Wait, why do you think the new Shera's badly written? I haven't checked it out yet, but I'm curious.

The premise of the main antagonistic relationship hinges on a giant gaping plothole.

Spoilers from here on:

The good interpretation is that they just wanted Catra and Shera to fight and didn't care how they got there so they slapped something together in ten minutes.

The likely interpretation is that they somehow didn't realize what a mess they were creating by having Catra say "I would do anything for you, anything!" and then, less than thre eminutes later, and in the same scene, declaring She-ra her mortal enemy forever, instead of her best friend and the only family she's ever known.

And that's in the first episode, btw.

It doesn't really improve.

Having been glutted on quality writing in chldren's media for the past few years, I've taken the disappointing turnout with Voltron and She-ra pretty hard.

Oh my Gosh, I love all of that, but I... gotta ask: I've been an MLP fan for a pretty long time, but somehow missed whatever you're referring to with Chatoyance. Do you have any references I could look up, to find out what happened? I'm intensely fascinated.

I remember some people had a conniption fit over the premise, but I thought it was a rather funny subversion of the shounen power-up trope. such a shame the manga was cancelled and there won't be a second season of the anime.
